Since I moved from south Brazil to Seattle I’ve started eating way more fish. I love fish and it is super healthy.
For those who doesn’t t know, Brazil is a huge meat producer and exporter. That’s why in Brazil the meat consumption is fourfold the fish consumption per capita. Can you believe it? I really like meat … but if I had to choose between fish and beef, I would choose the first option. Seems like I moved to the right place :).
This healthy grilled white fish recipe is easy, delicious and full of flavors. Even better, it is low fat, low carbs and gluten-free! Carlos, my husband and “recipe taster”, approved it!
serve: 3 to 4

– Salt, pepper and dried garlic to taste
– Juice of 1/2 lime
– 4 hake fish fillets (skinless and boneless)
Ingredients for Shrimp-Vegetables Sauce:
– Salt, pepper and dried garlic to taste
– 1 tablespoon gluten-free soy sauce
– 1 cup and 1/2 cooked shrimp (peeled and tail-off)
– 1 cup carrots
– 1 cup sliced withe mushrooms

How to prepare the Grilled Hake Fish:
Season the hake fillets with lime juice, salt, pepper and dried garlic to taste. In a non-stick frying pan heat olive oil and add the seasoned fish fillets (over a moderate heat). Cook for 3 to 4 minutes or until this side is lightly browned. Spray a little bit more olive oil on the frying pan and then turn fish fillets over. Cook for another 3-4 minutes or until the fish is cooked and lightly browned (this will depend on the thickness of the fillets). Transfer to warmed plates while you make the sauce.
How to prepare the Shrimp-Vegetables Sauce:
Season the shrimps with lime juice, salt, pepper and dried garlic to taste. Set aside. In a non-stick frying pan heat olive oil, add mushrooms and green beans (moderate heat). Cook for about 6 minutes or until the vegetables are tender crisp . Add the gluten-free soy sauce, carrots and seasoned shrimps and cook for 3 minutes. Spoon this sauce over the hake fillets and serve with green salad and brown rice.
